I used money from the MAEF Urban Youth Garden Grant to purchase a herb garden and LED grow light so my students can learn how to grow plants and study light spectrul (and plant reaction). Soon I will create an in-class botany area to grow herbs which will be moved to the garden by spring.

I have been continuing to advise the weekly bike club at ConneXions. The club meets after school on Mondays and students have been working to organize the club area and tool chests. We have been slightly delayed due to missing many Mondays in January and February (snow days and district holidays). Students have been continuing to repair and rebuild bicycles, which we will ride outside in the spring. Below are pictures of the club in action as well as our attendance sheet.

I used money from the MAEF Urban Youth Garden Grant to purchase a herb garden and LED grow light so my students can learn how to grow plants and study light spectrul (and plant reaction). Since spring is approaching, I am about to create an in-class botany area to grow herbs which will be moved to the garden by spring.
My science class is learning about the biggest Cottonwood tree in the city, which is on ConneXions property. Their class lessons will focus on measuring the tree, learning about the species, and tracking the tree on the database. Please see plans below:
