Blue Water Baltimore
Blue Water Baltimore donated all of the trees that were planted around ConneXions as well as on hillsides surrounding the neighboring Mondawmin Mall. This occurred on 5/16/16.
BCPS Office of Sustainability and Greening
The Green Team at ConneXions met with Joanna Pi-Sunyer on 11/8/17 and 1/31/18 and have been on constant communication about greening efforts at ConneXions! Ms. Pi-Sunyer is collaborating with the Green Team to help plan our Earth Day event.
BMORE Beautiful
The Green Team met with Natasha Neale and Kwame Rose of BMORE Beautiful on 1/31/18 to discuss how to collaborate and work together to plan an Earth Day event.
BMORE Beautiful is a city-led beautification project encouraging citizens, organizations, and businesses to clean up their neighborhoods.
School Active in the Community
Students went on field trips to Cylburn Arboretum to learn about different trees from different parts of the planet. Students had hands-on experience with the trees and while at Cylburn and also learned about aquaponics. Sixth grade students visited the arboretum in April of 2015 and on 4/18/16. Cylburn Arboretum is a local, Baltimore City urban oasis (part of our community) with over hundreds of specimens of trees and plants.

Outward Bound
ConneXions students have participated in the Outward Bound Police Youth Challenge (PYC) as a way to get students participating in outdoor activities and to change the perceptions and relationships between police and youth in Baltimore. Students visited two years in a row, on 5/10/17 and 11/16/17. Outward Bound is a nonprofit in Baltimore City (part of our community) which leads students on outdoor expeditions.
