The Recycling Club: Middle and high school students gather every Tuesday during community time to collect classroom bins and receptacles for recycled items such as paper, cans, and plastic bottles. One time per month my team checks classroom bins to ensure there are intact and that signage and posters are updated.

MAEOE Green School Application: I have submitted the intent to apply form and have met with Joanna Pi-Sunyer, the Green Schools Coordinator for BCPS.
Advise an Outdoor Club: I am starting an outdoor club where students will go on biweekly bicycle rides on the roads surrounding ConneXions as well as in the surrounding parks. I received bicycle donations from Velocipede as well as from community volunteers. In the club, students are working on repairing and rebuilding bicycles that can be used on our rides.
We will start our rides once we have enough repaired bicycles and helmets.

Green Grant Implementation: I have applied for the Green Healthy Start Challenge.
Outdoor Club Advisor: I am starting an outdoor club where students will meet weekly to learn in basic knowledge of bicycle mechanics and will be able to repair and rebuild bicycles that they can either use as their own transportation or sell to raise funds for the club. We have met 3 times after school on Tuesdays.

4 (Advise an Outdoor/ Environmental Club): The Bike Club (1AU): Middle and high school students gather every Tuesday after school for Bike Club (the club I oversee) from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Weekly 8-12 students convene to repair, rebuild, and rehabilitate used bicycles. I instruct and oversee in the bicycle mechanics. I also assist in setting club priorities and electing student club officers.

5.2 (Professional Development): Prepared and Provided an Environmental PD for High School Teachers (1AU): I planned and provided an environmental PD for ConneXions high school staff on Wednesday, February 14th, 2018.
Staff participated in an activity where they competed to create the best piece of artwork out of trash and recyclable materials.
I, along with Steven Johnson, led a discussion about environmental consciousness.

2. (Green Grant Implementation) Application for and Utilization of the Green Healthy Start Challenge Grant (2 AUs): I applied for and received the Green Healthy Start Challenge. I have deposited the grant and am keeping record of grant spending.
5.5.6 (Responsible Transportation): Bicycle Collection and Organization of Group Rides (1AU): I have overseen efforts to collect used/ donated bicycles as well have overseen the building and installation of an indoor bike rack for ConneXions. Routine bike rides have been organized (separate from bike club) so students and staff can ride in the community. These bike rides occur on Wednesdays or Thursdays. We are also proposing a field trip to ride around Loch Raven Reservoir on a Thursday in April.
5.4 (Celebration or Event): Earth Day Event Planning (1AU): I am overseeing efforts to plan and host an Earth Day event at ConneXions on Monday, April 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. I am inviting individuals and organizations from the community to participate in this event.

Since the majority of our club members were seniors (grade 12), I worked to recruit 6th grade students for the spring. We were successful in recruiting 6th grade students:
